Name Sayers is a musical hologram in Austin, TX.
Sonic layers recalling PJ Harvey, Grinderman, and Phosphorescent (with whom Name Sayers shares pedal steel player Ricky Ray Jackson) mingle with a gritty vein of ecstatic poetry, courtesy primary songwriter Devin James Fry, creating euphoric live shows and recordings that fit best in the desert at night.
2016 saw Name Sayers hit the ground running, recording and releasing preview EP “Four Dreams,” and completing both debut studio full-length “Mantles” and a full length live album for later release. On the strength of DMT-and-bees-filled video for “I Touch My Face In Hyperspace Oh Yeah” and a handful of live dates, they find themselves nominees for a grant from wave-making Austin non-profit Black Fret.
The Austin Chronicle debuted New Moon on August 22, 2016. Cassette singles available for a short time shows and for online order.
2017 will find Name Sayers on tours to California, Colorado, and Europe, including a stop at Austin Week Music Festival in Angers, France, September 2017.
