Sr Mgr of Music Licensing & Industry Relations, Mood Media
Nigel Finley is currently the Senior Manager of Music Licensing and Industry Relations for Mood Media in Austin, Texas. Mood Media is an experience design company providing various media solutions for businesses including digital signage, hold music, on-hold messaging, scent, integrated audio-visual, and background music. His main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing and maintaining multiple music content libraries and facilitating domestic and international music licensing efforts for Mood’s clients.
Nigel believes strongly in music industry education for artists and industry professionals alike. As such, during his Mood tenure, Nigel has built from the ground up a rigorous music licensing internship program for college students aspiring to intellectual property and music industry fields. Furthering his passion for music education and in partnership with the Austin Music Foundation, Nigel has developed and implemented a curriculum for a three part interactive music licensing and copyright workshop. In addition to volunteer work with the Austin Music Foundation, Nigel has spoken on panels for the Austin Music Foundation and guest lectured at Austin Community College.
Prior to moving to Austin, Nigel served as the Content & Licensing Manager for a boutique film & television placement company in Seattle, WA, placing numerous songs in popular TV shows, films and other media. This experience gave Nigel the necessary licensing foundation to pursue a career in the field. Earlier in his career, Nigel also worked as a Sound Engineer and Producer for a commercial recording studio in Tacoma, WA. There he produced, mixed, and recorded many local and national artists including The Voice’s Vicci Martinez.
Nigel currently lives in South Austin with his wife and white mini-Schnauzer.
