Seattle Theatre Group and Sonic Guild Launch New Artist Opportunity: “Live At The Neptune” Grant

Emerging Seattle-area artist to perform and record live album at Neptune Theatre this September

Seattle Theatre Group (STG), the nonprofit arts organization that stewards The Paramount, Moore, Neptune, and 5th Avenue Theatres, in partnership with Sonic Guild, announced today the launch of the Live At The Neptune Grant—a new opportunity for an emerging local artist to take the stage at the historic Neptune Theatre to record a live album, which will be professionally produced and pressed to vinyl.

The inaugural performance will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025, and marks the beginning of an ongoing series designed to highlight and uplift the Seattle music community. The selected artist will receive support for a full-scale live performance, including professional mixing, mastering, and vinyl pressing, with a minimum of 250 copies produced.

This collaborative project reflects STG’s mission to foster meaningful engagement with the arts and Sonic Guild’s commitment to supporting local musicians through funding and resources.

What the Selected Artist Will Receive:

  • Live Performance & Recording at The Neptune Theatre
  • Professional Mixing & Mastering with all costs covered
  • Vinyl Pressing of at least 250 copies of the live album
  • And More!

Applications open April 23rd, 2025, and close Wednesday, May 7, 2025. A panel of five music industry professionals will review submissions, and the selected artist will be notified on May 23, 2025, with a public announcement to follow.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, reside within 100 miles of Seattle, and be available on September 5, 2025, for a full-day commitment including soundcheck and performance. Artists must perform original music.

“We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Seattle Theatre Group to launch the Live At The Neptune Grant as a way to amplify Seattle’s vibrant music community and provide a local artist with a truly unique live opportunity,” said Ben London, Executive Director of Sonic Guild. “This project is about the community celebrating live music and giving artists new tools to expand their careers.”
